Community guidelines for Southwest One Tenants
These rules are designed to ensure a respectful, safe, and cooperative living environment for all tenants. Adherence helps foster positive communication and community unity, making Southwest One a better place for everyone.
Community room guidelines
RENTAL OF COMMUNITY ROOM GUIDELINES The Southwest One Community Room is administered by the SW1 Social Club Executive. In order to avoid conflict of use, and to provide some guidelines for those who may wish to use the room for private functions, the following guidelines must be followed:
Booking of the room is handled by the President of the Social Club. To reserve the date and time for your event, contact Paulette Elie at 519-318-7492. Under no circumstances may the room be used without permission from Sifton Property Limited. It is the responsibility of the Social Club President to inform Sifton Property Ltd prior to each use.
• Residents who have permission to use the room for a private function may use the kitchen – equipment in kitchen plus furniture found in the room. Please return all equipment/ furniture to original positions. Renters are responsible for any damage that occurs during their occupancy.
• The Community Room neighbours in Bldg 597 would appreciate your courtesy and respect. Please see that your guests keep noise in hallways to a minimum: Avoid: loud talking; running; slamming of doors or furniture. Be Kind!
• Cleanup Requirements following the completion of your event includes: clean up any spills, sweep the floors, and mopping if necessary, cleaning and return tables and chairs to original place; as well as, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom and remove all garbage and recycling to the receptacles in the basement. Please leave the room as you found it.
• If renter chooses to decorate for their own event, they would be expected to remove their decorations following the event. • The Social Clubs asks for a minimum donation of $25.00, larger donations are welcome. This money is used by the Club to help with purchasing of supplies for the room and to help with costs of other Social Club events.
• Residents booking the room should provide cash, or cheque payable to “The Southwest One Social Club” and deliver it to Paulette Elie at Apartment 87, Bldg 607, phone 519-318-7492 if you have any questions or concerns.
FOR THE CONTINUED SAFTEY OF ALL RESIDENTS IN THE BUILDING: IF YOU USE THE PATIO & BBQ, PLEASE CLEAN THE BBQ AND COVER IT. PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU LOCK ALL THE PATIO DOOR SLIDERS. PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE MAIN FRONT DOOR IS CLOSED AND LOCKED DURING YOUR EVENT AND WHEN YOU LEAVE THE PREMISES. THANK YOU!

- Please keep beverages in closed containers
- Indoor shoes only on equipment
- No food permitted
- No glass in the fitness room
- Report faulty equipment to Management
Use of equipment is at your own risk. Management assumes no liability for injuries or accidents
Pool rules
THE POOL IS UNSUPERVISED. BATHERS UNDER TWELVE YEARS OF AGE ARE NOT ALLOWED WITHIN THE POOL ENCLOSURE UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR HIS AGENT WHO IS NOT LESS THAN SIXTEEN YEARS OF AGE.
- NO PERSON INFECTED WITH A COMMUNICABLE DISEASE OR HAVING OPEN SORES ON HIS OR HER BODY SHALL ENTER THE POOL.
- NO PERSON SHALL BRING A GLASS CONTAINER ONTO THE DECK OR INTO THE POOL.
- NO PERSON SHALL POLLUTE THE WATER IN THE POOL IN ANY MANNER AND SPITTING, SPOUTING OF WATER AND BLOWING THE NOSE IN THE POOL OR ON THE DECK IS PROHIBITED.
- NO PERSON SHALL ENGAGE IN BOISTEROUS PLAY IN OR ABOUT THE POOL.
- THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF BATHERS PERMITTED ON THE DECK OR IN THE POOL AT ANY TIME IS 41.
- EACH BATHER SHALL TAKE A SHOWER USING WARM WATER AND SOAP BEFORE ENTERING OR RE-ENTERING THE POOL.
- THE EMERGENCY TELEPHONE IS LOCATED ON THE POOL DECK IN THE RED BOX, BREAK THE SEAL AND PICK UP THE RECEIVER AND DIAL 911.
